Members of the Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) have been repeatedly arrested, whilst taking part in peaceful demonstrations, since 2003. They have been harassed, detained and, in some examples, beaten before being released.
They have protested about the dire state that their country is in. The forced evictions and the increasingly non existent health care system are just two of the problems facing Zimbabweans. There is a food crisis; but, say that publicly and you are likely to find yourself in a government cell. These problems make caring for a family more and more difficult.
