Al Damealogy is an Iraqi MP who has serious concerns about the quota that requires 25% of the legislative authority to be run by women. She draws the attention of the international community to the emptiness of the gesture and that how, actually, it can damage the rights of women in Iraq even further -  the seats are sometimes filled by women who are against women’s rights and even against the quota itself.

The quota is undermined and leads those women who are serving to be looked on as seat fillers, only there because someone told the men they had to let them in. Plus, the quota is limited to legislative authorities which means women are barely represented in the executive or judicial authorities.
